"This year was bigger and better than last," said Expo Director. "It is our aim to grow the festival each year, to continue to provide Mississippi-based independent filmmakers a platform to showcase their work and to build a festival that commands worldwide attention and shines a positive light on the film community in our state. It's great to see Mississippi filmmakers not only showing their films here, but winning the awards. That's a very special thing."

In terms of worldwide attention, Doleac was pleased to showcase films from as far away as the UK and Australia. UK-based documentary FOLLOW THE MONEY even won the festival's audience award and one of its director's, Ben Unwin was on hand to accept.
