Enjoy complimentary Viennese-style breakfast pastries and coffee, as Dr. Joseph E. Jones, professor of musicology from the Southern Miss School of Music, discusses the life and selected works of Gustav Mahler and his contributions to the history of symphonic music. This engaging talk will help you further understand and appreciate the significance and meaning of Das Lied von der Erde (The Song of the Earth), the incredible musical work that will be performed by the FestivalChamber Players and vocal soloists under the direction of Dr. Jay Dean, at 7:30 p.m. that evening.
