The annual Southern Institute for Music Education (SIME) will again be held as part of FestivalSouth on June 9th and 10th, 2017. The Southern Institute for Music Education, co-founded by Drs. Mark Waymire and Webb Parker, music education professors at the University of Southern Mississippi, seeks to bring together musician-educators from the across the state and region for two days of active-learning seminars on current topics in music education and performance pedagogy. Topics included marching band techniques, teacher vocal health, program advocacy, and classroom management, just to name a few. More information about SIME can be found at www.simusiced.com.
