Alkebulan Music Philosophy (AMP) is a company co-founded by Edward Dorman and Shawn Lawrence and a member of the Mississippi Arts Commission’s Artist Roster. AMP was created to raise cultural sensitivity and provide a deeper appreciation for the musical and historical contributions of Africa and the Diaspora in the world we live in. AMP is an organization that takes great pride in promoting within children and adults an enhanced sense of community, cultural identity, self-expression, and cultural pride through African drum and dance.
